About

The journey to wellness is ongoing. We have to start wherever we are and take into account the whole picture. Through a healing centered engagement with ourselves and the world, restoration can take place.

I believe we are given all we need to reach our highest potential. Our strengths and our weaknesses are both gifts to guide us in our well-being.

Although, change is one of the only constants, one cannot expect others to make the change we desire. We must hold ourselves accountable with integrity for the lives we want to live.

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
- Viktor Frankl

Experience

After I received my masters in art therapy/counseling I began working with adults and adolescents in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.

My work with individuals experiencing schizophrenia moved me to explore the way other cultures view mental health. I studied eco-psychology and sandplay and worked in the rural villages of Malawi, Africa witnessing the ways indigenous people view healing. As an art therapist I have observed that humans have a propensity to express who they are and it is honoring that expression that we can thrive and heal if necessary.

This led me to work with children supporting them through school transitions and adjudicated adolescents in an inpatient setting. I have training in many different modalities and truly believe that each individual has specific needs.

I have had the honor of working with individuals, groups, and couples walking through healing trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, indecision, identity crisis, obsession, and grief and loss, meeting each one where they are...we all have different seasons of life to navigate and not one of us need do it alone.
